How long does it take to get green card after interview ?
my husband and I had the marriage green card interview on Nov. 7th. And the officer told us that I will get the card in the mail in 4 weeks.
it has been almost 4 weeks now but we haven't get any mails from the USCIS. i didn't get the approve letter after the intervew. the officer just told us that i will get the green card in 4 weeks. i checked online it says that my case is still pending.
my questions are how long does it take for the uscis send the card after interview and why didn't i get a approve letter after the interview?
thank you very much for helppingIt took 3 weeks for my green card to come after my interview, that was back in April. If you check your case online there will be status updates, first one will say Green card has been ordered, another one will say it has been produced and then I think you get one to say when it is despatched. It comes in just a plain white envelope.... so don't throw it away thinking it is junk mail! If you don't have it by the beginning of Jan I would call or schedule and info pass apptIt depends on what part of the country you are in. In some areas it takes longer than in others due to a backlog, so all you have to go on is what the officer said. I wouldn't worry about it until you get to about 6 weeks, then I would contact them to enquire when you can expect to receive it.You can get it as fast as 10 days or as long as 4 weeks. Don't worry: there's a backlog during this season, since many people apply so they are ready to work in the new year.

I had my interview last week.
the officer told me, that it takes about 4 weeks.
He also said, that it might take a little longer because of the holidays.
