Cat climbing HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!â ¦

  • IF I CUT MY KITTENS NAILS WILL THIS SLOWDOWN HER CLIMBING


  • I use to trim my cats nails regularly. I started it when young. He would sit nicely to do it. You press the paw to extend the sharp curve. You only snip the sharp curve. I used a clipper made for cats. Or you can take to groomer and they can do it.
    I really cant say if it will stop the climbing. Kitten may need some new toys to entertain him.

  • Do not get a cat's claws removed.
    Or even cut them because, the nerve runs through their claw. Clipping it can be VERY painful.
    Removing it is also painful. Like pulling off your finger. OUCH,


  • It is ok to cut a a little bit of her nails but not much. What i did with my cat was get a spray bottle and spray her it helps but if she does not stop buy some fake nails they work good.

    What ever you do do not repeat do not declaw your cat it is the worst thing to do i dewclawed my cat and they have to go up ther legs and take out ther claus my cat took off her bandages and there was blood every where never declaw your cat.


  • Don't clip her nails. There's a nerve and a blood vessel that runs almost the full length of the claw. Clipping that would be like cutting off a piece of the tip of your finger. OUCH.

  • If you ever let your cat outside, she will never have the ability to defend herself from intruders on her turf.

    she also needs them to jump onto trees, like cling to them and gain a field of vision(see further), it's interesting.

    It would be a bad idea to clip them off.


  • I trim my cat's nails every few weeks, just the curving tips. You can see the blood line in the nail and if you accidentally cut this part it is painful for the cat. Your vet or a groomer can show you how to do it properly so you don't hurt your kitten.

    I have a cute picture of my cat hanging out on the curtain rod. I know it's past time to trim her nails when she manages to get up the curtains. With regular nail trimming, she hasn't done it in a long time. I've heard some cats like Siamese are climbers and this may not deter them.
